Publications Overview

Fairborn Institute student and staff members have, over the past two decades, authored or co-authored over 100 papers and a dozen books.  A typical paper, “Observations of Potential Gaia DR2 Red Dwarf Binary Stars in the Solar Neighborhood—II,” describes speckle interferometry observations at the Fairborn Institute Robotic Observatory (FIRO). The most recent book, Small Telescope Astronomical Research Handbook (STAR Handbook), is a comprehensive guide to planning, conducting, and publishing research at smaller observatories. The STAR Handbook is used as the text for the student research seminars sponsored by the Institute for Student Astronomical Research.
